7.3 Study Group for Information System in Food, Beverage, and Alcohol Industry

This study group was set up in 1983 to investigate how manufacturers and wholesalers of alcoholic beverages and processed food can best collaborate sharing product/order information. GS1 Japan acts as the secretariat for the group of approx. 70 companies.
Responding to an increasing consumer attention and concern to food safety, the group developed the third version of the traceability guideline of raw materials for processed foods in April 2007.
