Member Organizations (MOs) of GS1 are distribution coding organizations representing countries and local regions. Today, there are 104 Member Organizations representing 106 countries, and 140 countries benefit from using the GS1 system. GS1 is headquartered in Brussels, Belgium, with some head office functions located in Princeton, U.S.A.
As a Member Organization of GS1 and a Board Member of GS1, we conduct the management of allocation of EAN codes and other numbering systems in Japan, and participate in activities for international distribution standardization. We also promote standardization of domestic supply chains in conformity with GS1 Standards and develop new distribution systems. The following is our activities regarding GS1 Standards.
